External Aerodynamics and Wind Engineering

At Slidian , we conduct external airflow studies to evaluate the impact of wind on structures, buildings, and installations exposed to atmospheric conditions.  

Using aerodynamic simulations, we analyze how air currents influence the safety, stability, and performance of any system subjected to wind loads.

Wind Load Analysis

We perform detailed aerodynamic calculations through CFD simulations to determine wind loads acting on different types of structures under a wide range of operating conditions.

Special attention is given to the most critical wind directions, allowing us to obtain:

Global forces acting on exposed surfaces

Pressure distributions across structures

Overturning and torsional moments in appropriate coordinate systems

Localized loads at critical points of the installation

These results enable the correct design of anchors, supports, and structural systems, reducing the risk of displacement, mechanical failure, or overturning during extreme wind events.

Our studies are carried out in accordance with internationally recognized standards such as Eurocode and ASME guidelines, ensuring reliability and practical applicability in industrial and civil engineering projects.

Environmental Effects and
Real Operating Conditions

In addition to analyzing isolated structures, we evaluate wind behavior within its actual installation environment, taking into account the influence of surrounding elements.

Our models incorporate factors such as:

Terrain topography

Nearby buildings and structures

Urban and industrial obstacles

Flow acceleration and channeling effects

This allows us to identify particularly adverse conditions and ensure that recirculation zones or turbulence generated by neighboring structures do not create local velocity increases that could compromise the installation.

Gas and Pollutant Dispersion Studies

Where gaseous emissions or potential contaminant sources exist, we also perform atmospheric dispersion studies.

These analyses allow us to evaluate:

Gas trajectories and concentration levels

Potential impact on personnel and equipment

Risks associated with accumulation or exposure

Critical meteorological conditions

This provides a comprehensive understanding of the combined effects of wind and environmental conditions on the installation under study.
